When I set out to establish MSDO , one year ago, there were many naysayers and critics that questioned the need and efficacy of a women-focused microfinance institution. Today, one year down I am confident that the resilience and perseverance of MSDO’s clients have proved the naysayers wrong. MSDO’s clients have demonstrated the business case for investing in low-income women’s micro-businesses. MSDO’s raison d`etre has caught on and many other organizations focusing on addressing women’s economic needs have come up. Since Oct, 2016, we have had the pleasure and duty of serving our cherished customers through the provision of loans to microenterprises and individuals both in the private and public sectors while promoting savings culture especially among the productive poor focusing primarily, on the informal sector of the economy.
